Miss World 2011 goes to Venezuelan beauty Ivian Sarcos.

On the 60th birthday of global beauty contest, sunday November 6, Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos, was crowned the 2011 winner of the Miss World beauty pageant at a glittering final ceremony in London. She is a A human resources graduate and her  ambition is to work with children. Ivian Sarcos, 21, took the ultimate beauty accolade at Earls Court in London, the city where the first Miss World was staged in 1951.

The crown was handed over by last year's winner, Alexandra Mills, who competed for the United States. A record 122 beauty queens from Albania to Zimbabwe take part in the pageant, which has been broadcast live to more than 150 countries. But outside, 50 feminists protested the pageant -- and, indeed, pageants in general. "Objectification won't achieve world peace", "Being a woman is not a competition" and "Sexism is pretty ugly," read their signs.




The runner-up was Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Ruais, and Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Perez, claimed third place. Miss world 2011 Ivian Sarcos, "I felt the most gorgeous woman in the world. I was so happy and I wanted to shout, to cry, to stand still and to smile. So many emotions." "I'm incredibly happy for this moment, for this opportunity and for winning and I'm grateful with my life," she added. Miss Venezuela, from a large family with 12 siblings, who was brought up in a nunnery after being orphaned aged eight and has a degree in human resources and currently works for a broadcasting company.
Next year's pageant will take place at Ordos in Inner Mongolia, China.  So till then the heartiest Congratulations are in order for Miss Venezuela and now Miss World 2011, Ivian Sarcos.
